Why don't I ever remember sketching these things?

like for real, I was looking through my files in sketchbook for older sketches to delete (or duplicates / half done saved files with the finished files next to it / etc etc) and I spotted this and I remember sketching it out and I remember beginning the lining (you can see)
....
but... I thought I finished this lD
and I thought it was up even though I also knew that I hadn't actually drawn umber since making his ref sooooo I don't know what happened in my brain, it just slipped lD

its really strangely annoying to me that I forget about this half done sketches I like and want to finish but totally forget about 

i might finish this one one day but I already moved on from mountainclan so it feels wrong to finish it and say its a sketch for my challenge but I'm 5 days behind ;3; 
so who knows
